Status 2-04-15*

I DID IT! Got the 100th episode 1 year anniversary show recorded AND published on the day of.

Laurie smiling in the sun

Same selfie as I used for show 100 but I’m uploading the full size version as I like this photo a lot 🙂

My hike was awesome yesterday and I had a blast recording the intros and outros I wrote Sunday and Monday as I edited all of the special audio bits. The mountain always puts me in that Zen creative mood as well. Both the ‘Letting go’ segment and my response to Stéfanie’s Secret Topic of the day were all one take each, no edits, and purely off the top of my head. Not bad! (BTW, I really DON’T listen to Stéfanie’s question beforehand. I download the audio file from email onto my phone’s hard drive, stopping it at hello, then muting my phone. I do this because my phone service is very iffy on the mountain). Then after I record the open, that I’m GOING to listen to Stéfanie’s question, I finally unmute my phone and hear it for the first time (you hear that same audio edited into the show at that same place) and then I immediately start talking – no pause, no thought, directly from Stéfanie’s lips to my ears and out my mouth! I’m always fascinated to listen during the editing process to find out what I say to Stéfanie as it’s kind of like automatic writing. It just flows from my heart.

PS, Thanks Mon Amie for the wonderful surprise! xoxoxoxox

In fact, I really, really enjoy this process. Hmmmm, maybe, If I ever take the show on the road, that would be fun to have audience Q and A in this manner? I think it is one of my strengths and hallmarks – being able to speak off the top of my head about eating, feelings, bravery and life. Would you like to come hear a bravery tour? Just pondering now. I think it would be fun to come walk and chat together and have a picnic then maybe tell a little of my story and have Q and A and let people tell some of their stories. Hmmm, what would I call an event like this?

Oh well, any of you event planners? Need a wacky motivational speaker for your corporate meeting? I’m not the same ole’ same ole’ – so keep me in mind. BTW, I’ve spoken at conferences and meetings before, so I’m not totally unprepared, just never considered that maybe, just maybe, I am my own best asset, Maybe my take on bravery could benefit more than just people with food issues….hmmmmm….mind churning.

Today

Junk TV this AM, I am SOOOOOoooo tired…..Zzzzzzzzzzz. Then Mark and I plan to bike the river. And if I am awake enough to drive, off to the Writers’ Group. Can’t wait to see what comes out of my loopy brain today!

Hope your day is great and filled with adventure and bravery. I also hope you enjoy listening to day 100 as much as I enjoyed making it.

How about you?

Please feel free to comment on MY statuses or add YOUR OWN thoughts, feelings, challenges, rants and raves on these pages too. That was one of the original purposes of why I posted on FB. I thought BCs might like to share about THEIR days. So if you have thoughts and feelings you’d like to share with the group, go ahead and put them here with your comments.

*Daily statuses are not part of the blog’s email notification. When you enter your email under where it says SUBSCRIBE TO POSTS VIA EMAIL, you will be notified of regular blog posts and when podcast episodes are released. I didn’t want to clog your inbox with my daily statuses. However, the automatic publicize feature will inform you on my show FB page, my AdventureLaurie twitter account, google+ on its show page, and Tumblr.

PS If you wish to sign up for email notification of blog postings and shows going live (not these status reports) enter your email where it says: “SUBSCRIBE TO POSTS VIA EMAIL”. This blog subscription widget is located to the right on computers and on some tablets, and below the posts on smart phones and on other types of tablets.

PSS, some BCs have asked me the difference between blog postings and status pages. Blog postings are where I develop a complete topic triggered by my status thoughts. Status thoughts are how my day went, what’s on my agenda, and how my body feels today – and not much editing or thought goes into them. That’s why I don’t clog up your email with them. 🙂

Body Balance

BB (Body Balance) number 5.5 Sleep: 4.5 hours straight. (phooey, just wide awake and no going back to Zzzz-land) Tummy/Gut: balanced. Not hungry after 3 hours of waking (not surprising since THAT was the middle of the night) Energy: Low. Mood: Pleased

BB is my personal criteria, and I don’t think too hard about it. I ask myself at the keyboard, what is my BB? A number between 1-10, including halves, pops into my head. I write it in my post Then I figure out why it is higher or lower and gently make note.

If you are interested these are my measures.

  1. Sleep. Quality and Amount.
  2. Tummy/Gut – If I ate what my body asked for, usually above and below the belly button feel balanced. Ate too much, below the belly button feels more full. Ate too little, the reverse.
  3. Am I hungry within 1 hour of waking? I have found that I feel best if I am hungry within 1 hour of waking. This tends to make my eating day even and not heavy on food in the evening. But I don’t eat if not hungry unless I’m about to ride or hike. I’ve learned I need to fuel these morning activities, or I’ll bonk.
  4. What is my energy level? Subjective, but telling.
  5. A quick look at my mood.

Loved episode 100 and every moment of the last year Thank you, my kindred spirit. Going through my own depression, body image, identity crap right now and can’t wait to get to the other side. I so love listening to you and the Brave Companions. My deepest gratitude.

BIG HUGS to you my dear Cassie! I’m sorry to hear about your situation. It sucks the big egg for sure to deal with that crap. Advice doesn’t help a bean, so I won’t give it – other than to say, do all in your power to be kind to yourself. Wear jammies that are super comfy, read books you love, or watch old movies that are favorites. Come here and say, Hey, I could use a hug right now! You have been and are so awesome and lovely in all of your support and in your comments to me. You have made a difference to me. I look forward to seeing what you say. You matter in my scheme of things . I’m glad you loved show 100. I think Mark is right, and it was a bit more cheerful than some prior. Show 100 is a good one to listen to again when you are feeling alone. Because we are there, and we care. xoxoxoxoxoxoxox
