Close up of ice-pack burn on my knew

Ouch! Here’s the burn on my left knee from letting an icepack remain against my bare skin by accident. Don’t do that! I always ice my knee after bike riding, and this time it bit me.

I give up dieting: my break-through (Intuitive Eating).

Finally catching back up here from a busy week. Just have to say I LOVE the analogy of the glass and water. That is SO perfect — and so perfectly me…

Am watching with interest your journey with the intuitive eating. As his lordship and I were making our way through Chapter 4 of Intuitive Eating this morning it dawned on me that there have been a LOT of times (especially in the afternoons) when I thought I was practicing bad food habits, that I was just grazing, for lack of a better way to put it. But I realized this morning that in all likelihood I may have been truly hungry. A new concept for me. Since I’m not familiar with how my body feels when it needs food, I’m wondering if I always think I’m just trolling for something to put in my mouth and that makes me feel like an out-of-control eater. That was eye-opening for me.

Lastly, as to your not knowing if you’re going to loose weight eating this way or not, I’m betting that one of the most important things about the program is to learn to live in the moment — mindfully — and not look ahead to a goal somewhere. And the truth is, there’s still the freedom to choose to not eat something because there ARE other concerns — medical or because a person is just plain uncomfortable physically in their body. That has to be a legitimate issue to be dealt with. Not into the book far enough yet to see if she delves into this, but I hope so since I have type 2 diabetes and will have to be dealing with carb limits.

So enjoy the journey. Pick up some stones on the path. Stick a flower in your hat. Aim your phone at something beautiful. You might be surprised at what you stumble across on the trip.

Hey GF, I don’t know if the book deals with medical issues, I didn’t see it in the main portion, but there is much research in the appendix.

      1. I’d run the intuitive eating principles by your diabetes Dr. and see what she says
      2. I bet you could still count carbs and feed yourself when hungry – I’m just not sure how that works for you (hence thought 1) 😉

Also, I bet you ARE hungry when grazing. It took me a long, long time to recognize my energy sluggish feeling as true hunger. When I feel it, I eat and see if I feel good or overfull. If I WAS hungry, I feel good. If not, I feel overfull and think about what other triggers may have caused my “dragging” feeling.
