Here I am with my trusty cane ready to hobble over to my ‘back of park’ shady big rock to record episode 44.

Podcast Recap

A sudden bad back forces me to practice getting over “Why Me?” as I hobble around Descanso Gardens. Michelle McKinney’s comment makes me think about “Why me?” striking at parties and how we might nip that feeling in the bud before the Robot Aliens can attack! Long time listener, Michelle shares what it was like to be on the show via the bravery hotline and leaves a detailed comment about Binge Extinction from her ongoing therapy. Shout-outs to new listener, Sunshine and to returning, commenter, Stéfanie from Canada.

Squirrel spread-eagled on its belly in a shady patch of cement walkway.

SO DARN HOT even the squirrels were spread-eagled hugging the cooler cement in the shade. At first I thought they were injured as I saw several in this strange position on my walk around Descanso Gardens recording episode 44, but they all sprang up at my approach and resumed scampering up trees and running around, so I guess this is a method of squirrel air conditioning!

Big boulder in the shade

My trusty ‘back of park’ big rock for recording at Descanso Gardens as it is nicely positioned in the shade. Yesterday, when I recorded episode 44, it was a bit low to sit on, but I managed with the help of my cane to perch against it.

Meadow of tall white flowers

This is a meadow of flowers I happened upon and liked.

Eating Disorders and Social Anxiety Disorder
by Arlin Cuncic a social anxiety disorder specialist. This article looks at the possible link between Eating Disorders and Social Anxiety Disorder. A Sentence that rang out to me was,

Fear of eating in public is a symptom common of both SAD and eating disorders.

A bit dry, but an interesting read.
