Thanks Dawny, I’m being such a nervous Nelly about the whole thing. I just recorded an episode with the details and asking folks to pass along the info if 1) They are listening between Sept 29-Oct 6, 2014 AND 2) they know anyone within 50 miles of LA 😉 If they are listening in the past, then they will SOON know how the whole thing shook out.

Laurie and every other Brave Companion!

Amazing and I’m excited that others at the YMCA will have the opportunity to participate in a group as i and others are doing through your podcast! This podcast has inspired me to make simple changes that are scary but, I see the small changes in me and I chuckle to myself. repeatedly every day! I’m not alone in this and I hear it and am awed, when you sit on your rock or walk talking & contemplating inner things…I now have license to go for a walk just for me , with no pre-decided “rule”…just for me being with myself to allow a natural unfolding with my relationship with food.

Excited to continue this journey with myself…

Thanks Patt for this encouragement. I’m getting whopping’ big stage fright, and I have to keep repeating to myself that brave companions are brave companions in real life too, and I don’t have to be PERFECT to be of use to them. (Alen would laugh to hear my perfectionist side right now). Truly, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And congrats on the license to walk. What a cool way to phrase that. It’s true, we don’t often give ourselves the chance to ‘just be’. Even me. I feel a little bit weird now on those days when I walk or hike without a recorder 😉 But those days are needed by me too.

Oop’s, I wanted you to know that I heard you the first time on Alen’s (Standish) podcast, “Progress not Perfection” and I’ve listened ever since that interview! 😀

Thanks for letting me know. I think maybe a third of the brave companions came originally from hearing that first interview on Alen’s show. I am so grateful that I had the chance to get to know Alen, he is such a wonderful person, I now consider myself his big sis’ since he never had one, and I never had a little bro. 🙂 I believe he just emailed me that our second interview will air in the next week or so on Progress Not Perfection. I’ll let you BCs know once it’s live. Of course if you are a subscriber of Alen’s YOU’LL know already 😉

This is so exciting and something you’ve wanted from the very beginning — the being able to speak with people face-to-face. I know you’re probably stressing a bit about getting things off the ground and whether folks will actually show up, but you have just had HOW many weeks of real-life preparation for this? You’ve seen what happens when being honest and accepting with yourself and others opens so many doors for healing. That’s a true gift. AND on top of that, you’re looking great, girlfriend! You’ve earned your wings, angel, and can walk into that group with your head held high and tons of confidence because you know how to make a soft, safe place for other people to land.

All the best, and I’ll be praying that exactly the people who NEED to be there WILL be.

    Hugs,
    Cheryl

Thanks for the encouragement and positive vibes GF! I’m pretty close to “What will be will be” – I’m stressing MUCH MORE today on developing character voices for class tomorrow. That is really tough. I guess I set aside worrying about this one until Sunday when I return from the theatre – we’re going to see a musical. 😉
