Hooray! I’m ready to walk around the park and do a bonus episode. Feeling great and ready to roll!

Podcast Recap

I rush down to the park to squeeze in a bonus walk and talk before we leave for a memorial service. I ponder how to stop letting what others say or think about me, or what I THINK they think of me, determine my mood. Josh’s album, The Simple Life, which contains my theme song, I’m Letting Go, is the resource of the day. Quick shout-outs to new brave companions, Courtney and Amy from Ohio, who will be featured next episode. I explore how dieting really IS the flip side of my binge eating disorder. I appreciate the new things and relationships in my life now that I have space in place of food obsession. I reveal my inner body fears and how I overcome them.

Hi Diane, thanks for stopping by! Hugs, and while I LOVE to hear your thoughts, please don’t feel badly if you have nothing to say for a while. Sometimes life happens, or we just don’t FEEL like expressing our stuff. I get it. But I DO really appreciate your letting me know you’re around and still listening. That made my day today!

Wow! Someone or something sure wound you up in a wonderful way in this podcast. I’ve tried the whole self-talk thing till I’m blue in the face, but I have never had the conviction behind my efforts that I heard in your voice in this podcast. That’s how I want to be, and by golly I’m going to do the same thing! Thanks for such an inspiring podcast!

LOVED the picture in your biker shorts. You are looking so great, girl!

LOL, this is the episode I thought you would like! And since I made it, I actually listen to this one myself from time to time to keep my bravery fire burning! I don’t know who or what got me going, but boy oh boy, did I enjoy it! 😉

PS, thanks for the kind comments about my bike shorts. I keep looking at that photo too and trying to see it as an artist would rather than as how it looks in a youth-obsessed, thin-obsessed world. From that POV, I feel pretty darn good. I look strong and happy. What more could I want?

Hi Lisa! I’m really glad you enjoyed this one. It is one of MY all time favs too, and I actually listen to it from time to time to pump myself up. In fact, this particular show was a real turning point after which I started to realize what a difference it made to my outlook when I consciously told myself positive messages in rebuttal for negative. It is a long, slow road for me to rebuild my inner expectation from negative to positive (or at least neutral), but I see huge changes in myself, in my relationships, and in the reduction of anxiety since I’ve made this kind of inner bravery talk a priority. Thanks again for giving me a chuckle remembering that day in the park, and thanks too for the comments about my bike shorts. I’ve come a long way baby, that I can post photos of my legs on the internet for all to see! Glad to see you are still along on the journey with me. xoxoxoxox
