I bravely model Suzanne’s birthday gift of a ‘Brave Tiara’ as I get ready to record day 104. I didn’t mean to snap photos of my sports bra for public viewing, but I was having such a great time looking at my crown from all angles this photo was born. After recording the show, it turned out to go really well with my topic too!

Podcast Recap

It’s time to ponder round the park! After a heartfelt thank you to Suz for her awesome birthday gift, I think through whether or not I want to start tracking calories again. Will it help or hurt?
Laurie in a sun hat walking through her neighborhood. She's pointing to her earbuds.

On the way to the park I snap a pic for Sophie on IG to let her know I’m rocking out to The Who’s Quadrophenia

snack foods in the cupboard

Just some of the legalized food that sits in the snack cupboard. Honestly, I forget these things are even in there now. Who knew? I’m hoping that my calorie tracking experiment won’t make me want these foods more than I do right now.

Wowser! That sun is shining hot today, but a beautiful hike nontheless.

Podcast Recap

Giving up too easily can be an automatic response and a terrible dream-destroying habit. A special shout-out to Heung, a lady I met hiking after recording last episode. Hear clips from my latest voice acting class with my scene partners Len and Matt and learn why I’m so glad I didn’t give up after last week’s snafu. Welcome to new brave companions Joe, who posted on day 1, and Kelly who shares her story and tells about her new healthy eating blog. Thanks to the latest Coffee Klatch subscriber and I share why it touches me so much, ala Sally Field’s famous best actress win quote. Alen Standish releases our second interview on his show, Progress Not Perfection, and thanks to Cheryl’s great idea, I interview him back for one of my future shows. Hear about my ongoing YMCA live support group and how the first meeting went. Amy from Wisconsin calls the bravery hotline about her stumbles with intuitive eating and how she refocuses. Featured comments from Suz, Cheryl and Stéfanie about negativity, bravery and creativity. Send in some fun Halloween audio or stories if you’d like a special Halloween episode.

Hooray! I’m ready to walk around the park and do a bonus episode. Feeling great and ready to roll!

Podcast Recap

I rush down to the park to squeeze in a bonus walk and talk before we leave for a memorial service. I ponder how to stop letting what others say or think about me, or what I THINK they think of me, determine my mood. Josh’s album, The Simple Life, which contains my theme song, I’m Letting Go, is the resource of the day. Quick shout-outs to new brave companions, Courtney and Amy from Ohio, who will be featured next episode. I explore how dieting really IS the flip side of my binge eating disorder. I appreciate the new things and relationships in my life now that I have space in place of food obsession. I reveal my inner body fears and how I overcome them.

Flipping the peace sign today as a signal that I’m working on making peace with my body.

Podcast Recap

Despite being plagued by flies on top of the mountain, I have an epic realization about my compulsive eating identity. Shout-outs to Helen for her bravery and to Misha from Canada for a kind iTunes review. Cheryl poses a question to us in response to my Miracle Plate blog post. Is it possible to have fun without eating? Stéfanie from Quebec, Stephanie from Germany and I have a comment discussion about intuitive exercise and just how dependent on gadgets we are to tell us how we’re doing. I wonder if anyone will EVER want to have Foolish Fun, and Alen Standish, from the Progress Not Perfection podcast, is a surprise guest expert during Stéfanie’s Secret Topic.
