Podcast Recap

Bravely facing up to the truth. Our truth, the truth of how we’re seen in the world, the truth that our truth can change and that’s ok. New iTunes reviews. How to support the show and the truth about where that money goes. The Unknown Foolish Funner gives us a chuckle. Suzanne is on the bravery report TWICE! One of my last voice acting class dialogs with my scene partners Phyllis and Roger. Comments about our epic episode 100 from Cheryl, Patt and Sue from the UK. Thoughtful reactions from Suzanne and Stéfanie from Qubec to the truth of size-ism as ranted by me last show and in a blog post called Fitting In – Hating the Simpsons and Loving the Kindness of Strangers. How to be in the next edition of Fionna’s Brave Companions Song.

Laurie pulls back her hat brim as she takes a smiling selfie in the mirror

Took this just because I felt Sooo happy in my body today. Still don’t know what I weigh, just felt really good physically.

Podcast Recap

It’s time for the Brave Companions to Partay! We celebrate Compulsive Overeating Diary’s one year anniversary and its 100th episode with music, good wishes, interviews and the debut of The Brave Companions’ Song featuring BCs from around the world written and sung by our own BC and talented song writer, Fionna Lane. We’ll feature greetings and well wishes from many BCs and reminisce about their roles in the show. We’ll check out the latest versions of every regular feature we’ve had on Compulsive Overeating Diary, including Foolish Fun, Mark’s No More Diet for Laurie Report, and Stéfanie’s Secret Topic of the Day. We’ll get another wonderful musical treat from Suz. We’ll go together to my writing group in Burbank, CA and talk to its founder, Samantha Marquis. I’ll read you the latest story I wrote there. Then on Bravery Saturday I’ll take you on my voice acting adventures . We’ll take a look at what it takes to polish a monolog from start to finish. We’ll have interviews with my singing teacher Viki Hilferty, my voice acting coach David Babich, and my voice acting teacher and director Marc Cashman – all sharing with us what it took to make THEIR dreams a success and their advice for us on ways we can try to do the same. It’s an awesome day of memories and surprises. Don’t miss it!

I take my photo prior to Mark giving me the once over for his opinion on how I look. I’m of two minds here. I look good, but can tell I weigh more than I’d like.

Letting go of defining ourselves by outside attributes. I’m a person with a podcast vs. I’m a podcaster and why the change in perspective helps. Next show is day 100 and will be recorded exactly one year since Compulsive Overeating Diary was launched. Please lend your voice to the celebration! How to be part of the Brave Companion song. Go ahead and post your general thoughts and issues on the status pages. A fun trialog from voice acting class with scene partners, Rhonda Clarke and Tom Smith. Welcome to new BC, Adam from Seattle. Mark is so moved by Suz’s brave words last show, he posts his first comment on the blog. Amy from Wisconsin is on the bravery report for her call to the bravery hotline about how facing the Dr.’s scale can be an emotional trigger.

Podcast Recap

I’m totally surprised when distrust bubbles up as what to let go of today. I ponder the roots of why I don’t trust myself or others and how I might let down that wall. I highlight the blog of BC and Instagram buddy, Sarah Nicole Hupp, then I tell tales from Facebook welcoming new BC Mary, finding out what Suz is up to and I answer a serious question about the diagnosis of compulsive eating. Thank you to my latest generous Coffee Klatcher and my first Canadian Amazon shopper. A new country floods the blog with visits, our first BC from Israel, Stacey comments, and Stéfanie from Quebec reveals her thoughts about our holiday show. I discuss what’s under my latest serious tangle with the Robot aliens and the support I received from Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin on her secret FB group and BCs Sue from the UK, Dawny, Cheryl, and Fionna on my own blog post. Finally Dawny shares great news and gives us a unique way to approach the new year.

Suz goes on the bravery report for whipping up the courage to speak to us for the first time on Speakpipe before she plays her holiday concert piece, ‘Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ on piano. I put myself on the bravery report for daring to sing ‘Winter Wonderland’. Fionna rounds out our annual concert by singing a great rendition of ‘I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas’ while playing the ukulele. I tell about last year’s Christmas show for Daily Adventure Tales and play a bonus clip of a poem I wrote as a youth called ‘Twas the Groove Before Christmas.
