Alen Standish of Progress, Not Perfection, is a great sport and sends me this selfie to go along with my theme of selfies for episode photos.

Podcast Recap

Alen chats with me about his own binge eating story, how he started his podcast, Quit Binge Eating, and the very personal reasons behind why he changed its title and focus to Progress, Not Perfection. Thanks to Brave Companions Amy in Australia and Patt for their 5-star iTunes reviews. I’ll be guest blogging for Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin’s Make Peace with Food.

Podcast Recap

Giving up too easily can be an automatic response and a terrible dream-destroying habit. A special shout-out to Heung, a lady I met hiking after recording last episode. Hear clips from my latest voice acting class with my scene partners Len and Matt and learn why I’m so glad I didn’t give up after last week’s snafu. Welcome to new brave companions Joe, who posted on day 1, and Kelly who shares her story and tells about her new healthy eating blog. Thanks to the latest Coffee Klatch subscriber and I share why it touches me so much, ala Sally Field’s famous best actress win quote. Alen Standish releases our second interview on his show, Progress Not Perfection, and thanks to Cheryl’s great idea, I interview him back for one of my future shows. Hear about my ongoing YMCA live support group and how the first meeting went. Amy from Wisconsin calls the bravery hotline about her stumbles with intuitive eating and how she refocuses. Featured comments from Suz, Cheryl and Stéfanie about negativity, bravery and creativity. Send in some fun Halloween audio or stories if you’d like a special Halloween episode.

Alen and I really enjoy talking together, and it shows in his new episode!

Great news BCs since I am so slammed this weekend and am delayed in getting my own next episode out, Alen just posted one we did together!

About month or so ago, I walked around the park once again talking with Alen Standish for his show, Progress, Not Perfection. We had such a blast Alen didn’t edit out much of our conversation. AND we answered the questions sent in by you, the Brave Companions.

You can check it out at PNPDaily.com. It’s episode 49.

If you missed our first interview, you can go to PNPDaily.com’s episode 42

Also, Alen is asking his listeners to fill out a survey about his show and you can win a prize! So after you listen, please be a pal and fill out Alen’s Survey.

As always, if you enjoyed our interview together it is SO encouraging when you post your comments for Alen on his blog, and for me on mine. I just finished interviewing HIM so turn about is fair play. You can expect an Alen segment on COD in the next week or two.

Since we love to chat and we enjoyed answering your questions in this interview, please post or email any questions you would like us to address the next time we get together to record.

Man I’m tired today! But I’m glad the weather is cooler than it’s been of late as I sit near the podcast tree which is beginning to drop its shade-giving leaves.

Podcast Recap

Surprise! After waking early I head to the podcast rock even though just the day before I had recorded a long interview with Alen Standish. Letting go of internal fear is one of the topics of the day. I share my latest bravery news. Thanks to the newest Coffee Klatch subscriber and to Amazon shoppers in the USA, Canada and UK! Welcome to new brave companion Marquita who posted her story on Day 71. An update from Alana on Facebook with her reactions about housework and catching up with the show episodes. Cheryl has a question for us based on Stéfanie from Quebec’s comment on day 73 about what’s under our reactions to unsolicited advice. Another great comment conversation between Helen from the UK and Amy from Wisconsin on Day 72 about intuitive eating. Stéfanie from Quebec asks her secret topic of the day about what’s under the fear of emptiness?
A large and straggly tree.

The podcast tree. I usually pick which rock to sit and podcast from under it depending on the amount of shade. Today was cool, so I could just sit where it was comfortable.

Podcast Recap

I make a shocking decision about what to let go of today! A new way to measure progress is rolled out. Thanks to listeners for supporting the show on iTunes, Stitcher, and TuneIn radio. Special thanks to Cheryl, Sue, and Karen for posting comments on Alen’s blogs after our interview. Dawny is on the bravery report for calling the bravery hotline with an audio question for Alen and my next interview. I answer part of the question now and Alen weighs in via email until we can address the topics more in depth in future. I’m pleased and humbled that a new listener and brave companion from Rhode Island calls the bravery hotline to share her story and we are the very first people to ever hear her thoughts about her eating struggles. I’m also floored that a Brave Companion actually sent me $5.00 via my new button and I dig deep on what that brings up in me and why. More thoughts and feedback about the scale and a key comment from Kendra via Facebook. I share more about my long held dream of trying voice acting and how my social meeting with actual voice actors went. Helen supports Gracie with a kind comment and I use this to send my own good wishes to Gracie.
