Perfect photo for this episode because the full sun on my face in the wind, highlights my facial flaws. I’m self-conscious of my newly splotchy skin, my darkening teeth and other signs of wear and tear. Yet I’m laughing and having a good time. I am more than my body and it is good to remember that.

Podcast Recap

Brave Companion, Stéfanie, leaves a wonderful comment on Day 27 that sparks me to discuss why we should not wait for ‘perfect’ to reach out to others, or to reach out for our dreams. I share my adventure of meeting Listener Sandy in person, and ask all of our brave companions to help support Maureen in her quest to know, ‘How do YOU deal with the feelings under compulsive overeating?’

Fantastic view during this AM’s hike. I haven’t felt so well, in a long, long time. What a blessing and an opportunity to be out in this world of color and peace.

Podcast Recap

During a fantastic morning hike, I relate my gratitude for episode 26’s power to stop my binge. I also wax poetic about the ups and downs of weight, compulsion, and how we might become more accepting and peaceful with our bodies.

Podcast Recap

When faced by food temptation do you go right away to plan Binge? Bitch? or Plan “Be”? I hike in front of gathering storm clouds and muse about this new idea. It came to me from a comment typo I made on my friend’s blog, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. It’s also bravery day! I ask all of you to give me a call or a comment and bravely share a bit of your lives. Shout-out to Jodi and Crystal, who have shared a bit already. Thanks for encouraging me! I include all of my main theme, I’m Letting Go, by Josh Woodward from The Simple Life Part 1 at the end of this episode as a bonus.

The Grief Monster a touching and thought-provoking blog post by author, Shannon Cutts where she quotes Dr. Daniel Siegel’s The Mindful Brain. In his chapter on “Stress and Suffering”, Siegel writes, “When the mind grasps onto preconceived ideas it creates a tension within the mind between what is and what “should be”. This tension creates stress and leads to suffering.”
